Tuskegee University’s student choir, The Golden Voices, is busy preparing to welcome students, faculty, staff, alumni, 威尼斯人娱乐城 the entire community to the University 教堂 for the 139^th annual Christmas Concert, on Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m.

 

“We are looking forward to our Tuskegee family, 威尼斯人娱乐城 our neighbors from across Macon County, joining us for beautiful music from our talented students, lifting our hearts in the spirit of love, hope 威尼斯人娱乐城 shared humanity this season represents,” said Dr. Mark A. Brown, president 威尼斯人娱乐城 CEO.

“I hope the audience will experience the joy of the season when they are with us,” said Dr. Wayne Barr, who has served as Tuskegee University’s choir director for more than 25 years.  “A joy that fosters gratitude for the present 威尼斯人娱乐城 hope for the future.”

 

Dr. Barr shared that music will include 钟声的颂歌, 圣诞节的十二天, excerpts from Benjamin Britten’s cantata 颂歌的仪式, as well as settings of Negro spirituals.

“Come feel festive with us!” said the Dallas native, a senior Aerospace Engineering major who will graduate next spring.  “This performance is something the choir has put months of work into 威尼斯人娱乐城 is the culmination of our efforts.  Our talented board hosted several successful events this past semester, 威尼斯人娱乐城 watching choir members engage with the themes, along with genuinely having fun, makes every weekly meeting worth it.”

“Dr. Barr has a massive undertaking to sculpt the choir into a choral masterpiece. And he does it, every year, without fail,” he said.

继2025年圣诞音乐会之后，明年金声乐团将举办一年一度的福音音乐会，前往爱荷华州立大学参加乔治·华盛顿·卡弗庆典，与蒙哥马利交响乐团和阿拉巴马交响乐团合作演出，春假期间前往佛罗里达州进行春季巡演，以及2026年的本科毕业典礼。
